DL Methionine is a chemical substance with the molecular formula of C5H11NO2S; CH3SCH2CH2CH(NH2)COOH.

CAS# 59-51-8

Methionine is a chemical substance and one of the essential amino acids for human body. Its molecular formula is c5h11o2ns, which is involved in protein synthesis.

Because it cannot be generated by itself in the body, it must be obtained from the outside. If methionine is deficient, protein synthesis in the body will be blocked, causing damage to the body. The excessive oxidation of membrane lipids caused by oxygen free radicals is the cause of many kinds of damage. Lipid peroxide will damage the primary and secondary lysosomal membranes, release the acid phosphatase contained in lysosomes as hydrolysis, and cause damage to important organelles such as cells and mitochondrial membranes. Methionine can fight these damage through a variety of ways.

Manufacturing:

1. Casein can be obtained by hydrolysis and refining.

2. It can also be prepared by strake synthesis reaction of methyl mercaptan and acrolein (after addition of methyl mercaptan and acrolein, it reacts with sodium cyanide and ammonium chloride to produce a-aminonitrile, and then hydrolyze to obtain a-amino acid).

DL Methionine uses:

Nutritional supplements. It has the same physiological effect as L-type methionine, but the price is low (L-type is made from DL type), so DL Methionine is generally used. It is a restricted amino acid in plant foods such as oat, rye, rice, corn, wheat, peanut powder, soybean, potato and spinach. Added to the above foods to improve amino acid balance. The requirement varies with cystine intake. The requirement for adult men is 1.1g/d.

The taste of sea urchin is related to methionine, the sweetness of sea urchin is related to glycine and alanine, the bitterness is related to valine, and the freshness is related to glutamate. Therefore, these amino acids can be prepared into flavoring agents.

It is also used for amino acid infusion and comprehensive amino acid preparation.

It can be used as perfume according to GB2760-86.

This product is mainly a feed nutrition fortifier.

Lack of methionine in livestock and poultry will cause dysplasia, weight loss, weakening of liver and kidney function, muscle atrophy, fur deterioration and so on. Adding 1kg methionine to the feed is equivalent to the nutritional value of 50kg fish meal. The general addition amount in feed is 0,05% - 0.2%.

The content of commercial methionine is ≥ 98.5%. It is one of the essential amino acids for the growth of livestock and poultry. It is the "skeleton" amino acid of biosynthetic protein. It has a strong regulatory effect on animal metabolism and is widely used in the fields of medicine, food, feed and cosmetics. In medicine, it can be used as the main component of amino acid infusion and compound amino acid, and can also be used to synthesize medicinal vitamins. Using its anti fatty liver effect, it can be used to produce liver protecting preparations; In terms of food, it is used for amino acid fortification of food and processing of food health products. It can be used as nutritional supplement. Due to its special smell, it is only used for fish cake products; In the feed industry, methionine is used in the largest amount. It is used as a nutritional enhancer of feed and a feed additive to make up for the balance of amino acids. Among the varieties of amino acid nutritional feed additives, methionine accounts for 60%, lysine accounts for 30% and other amino acids account for about 10%.
